Privacy Policy

SwissPay is an informational website about salaries and take-home pay in Switzerland. We keep data collection to the minimum a public website can run on: no user accounts, no logins, no advertising profiles.

Data we collect

Calculator input. The gross-to-net calculator runs entirely in your browser. The salary, age and canton you enter are processed locally by JavaScript on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical request data (IP address, timestamp, requested page, browser type) for security and error diagnosis, and deletes it after a short retention period.

No accounts, no newsletters by default. We do not ask for your name, address or employer anywhere on this site.

Cookies and analytics

We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers. If privacy-friendly, anonymized analytics are enabled, they serve only aggregate page-visit counts and cannot identify you. You can block them in your browser at any time without losing site functionality.

External links

Our pages link to official sources such as the Federal Statistical Office (BFS), the Federal Tax Administration (ESTV) and the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM). Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Your rights

Swiss data protection law (revised FADP, in force since 1 September 2023) gives you rights of access, rectification and deletion over personal data concerning you. Because we store no user profiles, we normally hold nothing to delete - but if you believe we hold data about you, contact us and we will respond within the statutory period.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date above reflects the last revision. Continued use of SwissPay after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Cookies

We use an absolute minimum of cookies. When you visit this site, a small piece of JavaScript checks whether you've already made a cookie choice and stores your preference (accepted or essential-only) in your browser's localStorage. This is the only thing we store.

We do NOT use:

• Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels)
• Advertising cookies (no third-party ad networks)
• Social media cookies (no share buttons, no embeds)
• Any cookies that track you across other websites

All calculators and tools on this site run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to any server.

If you change your mind, you can clear your cookie preference by deleting this site's data from your browser settings.
